About Mambo Craze Cabaret

Mambo Craze Cabaret is our "Love Letter" to vintage LA, the Golden Era of Dance and our Latino culture. Inspired by the 1945 Mambo craze explosion in New York's legendary Palladium Ballroom and El Tropicana in Havana Cuba, the world's most famous Cabaret. It was a time where the only currency that had value was your ability to dance, not your social status.

You can expect an opulent and decadently immersive evening reminiscent of Old Hollywood, Perez Prado and beautiful showgirls. Guests will be dazzled by the Live Music, an all-vinyl DJ playing nothing but the classics from Mambo, Rumba, Descargas, ChaChaCha and even a little Cumbia. Our DJ will be carefully selecting the "soundtrack for the evening", truly a lost art.

We've hand-selected every entertainer taking the stage: unveiling the very best in Burlesque, Cabaret and Cirque performances throughout the night, including a vixen popping out of a cake, a burlesque dancer bathing in a champagne glass, and of course, intoxicatingly sensual Mambo Dancers taking over the stage and, of course, social dancing for our guests to live Mambo and Afro Cuban Jazz.

The backdrop for this lavish production is the legendary Cicada Restaurant and Lounge. An Art Deco lover's paradise with it's 30-foot gold-leaf ceilings, chandeliers and luxurious mezzanine-level bar where Manhattans, Champagne Cocktails and mixology of that long lost era await.

We're bringing back the elegance of yesteryear with the gentlemen dressed to the nines and the ladies looking silver screen red-carpet ready. Upon arrival, an authentic NY-style Mambo On2 lesson will be provided for our guests to help set the tone for the evening just like they did at the Palladium 75 years ago.
