Mike Hess Ocean Beach - "San Diego's first licensed nano-brewery" is run by an ex-Navy Lieutenant Commander who spent 15 years home brewing in his garage before moving up to... a bigger garage, outfitted with a custom 1.6 barrel brewing system specially designed with help from his machinist bro to produce 52-gallon batches, making microbreweries look like Maltmart.

Mike Hess Ocean Beach opened the doors and let the sunshine pour into our OB location in late August of 2015. Located on the northern corridor of beautiful Ocean Beach, you’re welcome to bring in the kids, dogs, and food from the handful of tasty local eateries close by. Just 3 blocks from the beach, cool off with a pint after your sandy salty day! You’re welcome to bring in outside food; ask for one of the many board games we have available.

Mike Hess Ocean Beach Bar Knights Trivia: Every Monday from 7-9 pm bring your best team in to play trivia! Its free to play and first and second place team take home prizes. Running late? Don’t worry, you can join at any time. Don’t forget your MHB glass for $4 pints, too.
