About Absolute Tattoo!

Meet Cathy Montie, the unofficial Mother Ship of the body art industry! She has over 40 years of experience and is the owner of Absolute Tattoo, Piercing, and Permanent Cosmetics in San Diego, California. "Absolute" opened its doors in 1998 and is one of the longest-established body art shops in San Diego County. Cathy has put her heart and soul into the industry she loves, to the extent that she recognized the trends and directions the industry was moving and became an OSHA Authorized Outreach (Industry Specific) Trainer.

Cathy Montie created Cathy Montie Body Art Training Company (CathyMontie.com) to provide online and in-person bloodborne pathogen control training classes that have been designed to be body art industry specific. All of Absolute’s staff are certified in blood borne pathogen control to insure the safety of clients and staff as well.

Cathy has paid special attention to what the customers expect in a full-service body art shop and has carefully staffed Absolute with friendly, experienced, and talented artists to serve those needs. Many of the in-house artists have specialties, but all are well-rounded original artists in their own right. As a result, Absolute has something for everyone.
