1849 Brewing Co. is a brewery in Grass Valley, CA bringing great tasting modern and traditional style beers, as well as, delicious American pub style food to the Grass Valley, Nevada City, Auburn, and greater Sacramento areas.

Kevin graduated from California State University, Fresno with a BS in Winemaking (Enology) and a minor in chemistry. Like his father, Kevin experimented with making beer in college and learned his chemistry background not only supported his focus on winemaking, but also tied in with making beer. Kevin’s dream of a winery matured into opening a brewery in the area where he felt at home, Grass Valley. David and Kevin achieved their dream, with the opening of 1849 Brewing Co.

David has been Homebrewing since 1980 and has dreamed of opening a brewery since the early 1990s. His dream began to come to fruition when Kevin took an interest in homebrewing while at college. Together they planned 1849 Brewing Company.
